Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) Grant Funding: Long Term Care Funds Available for Certain Indoor Air Quality Devices

Up to $3,000 in grant funding may be available for indoor air quality improvements on a state-by-state basis for certified nursing facilities through the Civil Monetary Penalties Reimbursement Program. Read the following frequently asked questions to learn more about what  you need to know to take advantage of this funding while it is still available.

Ready to claim your IAQ grant funding now?

What does this new CMP IAQ grant funding cover?

Recently, certified nursing facilities received updated guidance around indoor visitation from CMS. To aid the process of developing a safe indoor environment in alignment with these guidelines, CMS authorized States to use CMP funding for portable fans and portable air cleaners with high efficiency particulate air filters such as HEPA H-13 or H-14. The funding also covers shipping costs, but additional replacement filters are NOT eligible.

Does the grant funding cover anything else?

No. CMS’s authorization is limited to certain portable fans and air cleaners, and  does not cover other devices or improvements (IAQ or otherwise) at this time. However, a facility could discuss with its local CMP office whether general funds are available to support other IAQ projects.

Am I eligible to receive this funding?

Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing facilities are eligible. This excludes Assisted Living and Independent Living facilities, as well as private pay skilled nursing facilities.

Is the funding available in my state?

Direct Supply works hard to have the latest CMP funding updates available, so please reach out to your account representative to learn if funding is available in your specific state. If for any reason we do not have all the information you need, we can help you check with your state CMP contact.

Funding is not guaranteed and is available on a first come, first served basis.

What if I’ve already claimed money from the CMP for other products? Can I still receive up to $3,000?

Yes. As long as your state has funds available, you are still eligible for the full $3,000 even if you have received CMP funding before for other products, such as visitation barriers or tents.

Does the $3,000 funding total cover  the amount I pay in shipping costs?

Yes.

Is there a deadline to submit for this funding?

Purchases on or after February 2, 2022 are eligible for the grant. Funding availability is determined on a state by state basis and is first come, first served.  Each State must maintain a certain amount of funding in its CMP account, so the amount of money available for these grants will vary by state.

What do I need to apply?

Funding must be approved before you place your order. We understand receiving CMS funding can sometimes be a long and arduous process. However, the application for the CMP grant has been shortened. This makes receiving funding easier and simpler.

To begin the process, request a no obligation quote from Direct Supply. Once you have secured your quote, you can submit it to your State’s CMP office along with your application to get your funding approved. We suggest contacting your State’s CMP office before you apply, as most states have a specific application form and method for submitting the application that must be followed.

How long will it take the state to approve my application?

Timelines can vary by state and are generally based on the number of applications received. Most states are accepting applications via email. If you would like to know an estimated turnaround time, you can inquire in the body of the email when you submit your application.

How can you work with Direct Supply to get the most for your funding?
