He is recognized worldwide as a “thought leader” and authority on global trends; rapid business model change; business transformation in a period of economic uncertainly and the necessity for past-paced innovation. Currently, Speaker Wiki – the global encyclopedia of speakers – ranks him among the top 10 speakers in the world.

To meet the demands of our seniors in the United States, it will be important for us to implement new business models and provide innovative care options to seniors. How we approach our own jobs and positions will require fresh perspectives and new thinking in order to face the challenges of tomorrow. Jimmy Anklesaria
Founder & CEO, Anklesaria Group
Jimmy Anklesaria, is the founder and CEO of The Anklesaria Group. He is the author of Supply Chain Cost Management – The Aim and Drive Process for Achieving Extraordinary Results and the co-author of Zero Base Pricing™: Achieving World-Class Competitiveness Through Reduced All in Costs. Jimmy also holds the international service mark/patent for the AIM & DRIVE® process.
One of America’s most sought-after speakers on cost management, Jimmy conducts seminars and workshops around the world. He has a unique ability to provide practical solutions to complex business problems. He has been the keynote speaker and workshop leader for a number of organizations and companies, including the Institute of Supply Management (formerly NAPM).
Jimmy has taught graduate and undergradute level courses in Strategic Cost Management, Finance and Investments at the University of San Diego, where he has been named Outstanding Professor of the Year. He has also lectured in Strategic Cost Management at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago and Arizona State University.
Jimmy believes the Senior Living industry is at a critical point in its evolution. For today’s providers, the challenge lies in not only complying with regulations to maintain care, but also doing so in a way that keeps total costs in check. Moreover, downward pressures on revenue from reimbursement reductions and lagging economic conditions have intensified the need for providers to control costs across facilities. What most providers need to recognize is that there is a direct relationship between supply chain management and their ability to provide quality patient care.
Bill Avery
Executive Vice President & General Manager, DSSI
Bill Avery joined Direct Supply in January 2009 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In June of the same year, he took on additional leadership responsibility for Direct Supply DSSI to further grow and develop in our automated payables division and to enhance our customer experience. In December, Mr. Avery was promoted to Executive Vice President, responsible for the Direct Supply DSSI and TELS strategic business units and Corporate Information Services shared services group.
Prior to joining Direct Supply, Mr. Avery was the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Brunswick Corporation, responsible for all aspects of Brunswick’s global information technology. He also served as Vice President of Information Services for the Life Fitness division of Brunswick Corporation.
Mr. Avery was also director of research and development for Dynatec, a provider of sales forces automation tools, where he participated in the development and implementation of that company’s product portfolio. Before Dynatec, he was Manager, Applications Software Development for Planmetrics, where he developed economic simulation tools for the natural gas and electric utility industries.
Mr. Avery holds a bachelor’s of arts in business administration from Lewis University and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Bob Hillis
President & CEO, Direct Supply
Bob is the founder of Direct Supply, one of the nation’s largest providers to healthcare networks. An engineer turned marketer, he is a visionary who built the nation’s first true “virtual distributor” in 1985. That company, now known as Direct Supply Equipment, is the largest supplier of equipment to Senior Living in America. It supplies nearly 17,000 institutions with over 500,000 products, with no inventory.
In 1993, Bob took the virtual concept to a new and then revolutionary idea – the Internet. He formed DSSI, the nation’s first healthcare eCommerce network. Today, DSSI is the world’s 14th largest eBusiness, operating the largest virtual private network in healthcare. Over 2,500 suppliers and 9,000 healthcare institutions conduct the buying and selling of over 3,000,000 products on DSSI.
Bob is also the Founder and Chairman of the Alliance Partners, a group of healthcare suppliers who support The Alliance for Quality Home Nursing Care, a group of the 14 largest Senior Living operators. He also chairs the Strategic Policy Group in Washington D.C., composed of the Alliance, AHCA and AAHSA. Bob has been very active on the political scene representing the Senior Living profession in Washington with the White House, HHS, CMS, Congress and public policy groups throughout the nation.
The hallmark of Bob’s management style has been not to manage. His companies have run with no organization charts, almost no hierarchy, ownership for every employee and an “open book” style of management since the first company was formed almost 25 years ago. Well-known throughout the country as a “rebel leader,” Bob can’t stand to do it the regular way.
Bob grew up in Indiana, graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and then earned an MBA from Indiana University in Bloomington. He received an honorary Doctorate in Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2007.
