MISSION & HISTORY

Founded by visionary leader Bob Hillis, Direct Supply began as the nation's first virtual distributor in 1985. Since then, Direct Supply has built one of the brightest, hardest-working teams in America, still operating under the founding values of honesty, integrity and excellence. Our mission is to enhance the lives of millions of residents in Senior Living.

As a 100% employee-owned company, Direct Supply's rapid growth and success is driven by the approximately 1,000 Partners, who operate the family of innovative companies. This commitment can be found in everything we do, from technology, equipment design to any one of our product and service solutions.

MILESTONES

  • 1985 – The founding company, Direct Supply Equipment (DSE), is born.
  • 1988 – Bob Hillis writes the company principles, which are still followed today.
  • 1995 – Our first eCommerce business, DSSI, is launched. 100 Partners are employed.
  • 1997 – Eldercare Interiors, a design-build division, is created. The first ever DSSI Forum is held.
  • 1999 – The Alliance Partners, a collaborative industry advocacy group, is formed.
  • 2000 – The Direct Supply Network opens for business. Direct Supply employs 250 people.
  • 2004 – An online management tool, TELS, is created. That same year, the Eldercare Interiors showroom opens.
  • 2009 – Over 900 people work at Direct Supply, Inc.
